The Center for Discovery is dedicated to serving children and adults with chronic, complex conditions including a growing number of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Generous support from families and friends ensures that we can provide the highest quality of care and move the field forward.
Your generosity fuels the innovation, collaboration, and research that make The Center for Discovery an international leader in residential, medical, clinical and special education services. We offer a variety of giving options to help you support our mission.
Contributions to events are tax-deductible (excluding goods and services provided) and all proceeds benefit The Center for Discovery.
Ways to Give
Your gift can honor the memory of a loved one or recognize a special occasion or pay tribute to a Center for Discovery staff member.
Matching gifts are a great way to multiply the impact of your gift to The Center for Discovery. Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. If your company has a matching gift program, please send your employer’s completed and signed matching gift form with your gift. We will do the rest!
If you are interested in making a stock donation please contact our development department and we will provide you with the necessary information including financial account information. It is important that you notify us of your intention to make a stock donation so we can make the necessary preparations and credit you accordingly.

Evening of Discovery
May 1st, 2019
The Evening of Discovery is the signature fundraising event for The Center for Discovery that includes strong representation from The Center’s families, friends and supporters, valued business partners, the community, government officials and other supporters. This year, The Center was very proud to honor Lon T. Dolber, CEO & President of American Portfolios, and Vice Chairman of World T.E.A.M. Sports.
Discovery Golf and Tennis Invitational
July 29th, 2019
The Discovery Golf and Tennis Invitational is an annual fundraising event held at the exclusive Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo, NY. Golfers and tennis players enjoy a day that starts with breakfast and registration. At the shotgun start the golfers are sent off onto the course as bagpipes play from the clubhouse. The tennis players are whisked away through the gated community to the tennis courts for the day. All return to the clubhouse for cocktails, golf games, dinner, auctions and raffles, and of course, the presentation of awards. All proceeds from the event go toward funding of The Center’s unique programs and services.
Discovery Sessions Conference
October 19th, 2018
This year’s Discovery Sessions, “Brain, Body and the Age of Complexity,” will engage board members, key government stakeholders, leading foundations, and potential donors about a range of complex conditions and the common lifestyle factors that can be addressed for brain and body health. The conference will explore The Center’s research initiatives, the future of healthcare in New York State, and a broader agenda to change the way the world thinks about complexity.
Michael Ritchie Big Barn Event
October 20th, 2018
The Michael Ritchie Big Barn Event for a Sustainable Future is the signature fall fundraising event for The Center for Discovery – bringing together family members, prominent friends and supporters.The proceeds of this event will be directed to The Center’s comprehensive research initiatives to provide enhanced scientific understanding and treatment to individuals with a range of complex conditions.
October 21st, 2018
The Annual Harvest Festival is a celebration of new discoveries, old and new friends and a bountiful harvest. An Autumn Harvest Buffet features the seasonal bounty of The Center’s Thanksgiving Farm, CSA, for invited guests to share.
