Dressed to Shine: Prom 2025 at The Center for Discovery
Written by Kerri Muzuruk, Executive Chief of Education, Curriculum Design & Coordination
In early June, students from across all campuses at The Center for Discovery came together for a truly meaningful celebration – Prom 2025. This year, we hosted two vibrant proms to ensure that every student had the opportunity to experience this cherished tradition. For over thirty students, it was a rite of passage: dressing in their finest suits and gowns, celebrating alongside peers, and dancing into the evening. From the first song to the last, the dance floors were filled with joy. Students arrived glowing with pride – looking their best, ready to move, sing, and simply enjoy the moment. With the support of families and dedicated staff, the night was made even more special. Every student was seen, supported, and celebrated. Prom is more than an event – it is a reflection of the strength, individuality, and community we nurture every day. It was a night where joy came naturally, connections ran deep, and memories were made that will last for years to come. Here’s to the students who continue to inspire us – and to the community that makes moments like these possible. |

TCFD Explore Tour
The Explore Tour gave them a chance to visit a variety of locations across The Center. The tour was more than just a walk-through – it was a chance to see The Center’s mission in motion. By connecting with teams across departments and learning how each program plays a part in our continuum of care, clinicians gained valuable insight into the collaborative, full-circle approach that defines our work. |
The Center for Discovery at Hello Inclusion Festival – Community Expo
TCFD is proud to participate for the second year in the Hello Inclusion Festival – a free event – at Bethel Woods on July 25th from 1:00–5:00 PM, hosted by the Daniel’s Music Foundation. As part of the Community Expo, The Center will join a range of organizations celebrating inclusion, connection, and creativity.
TCFD’s Innovation Team will be showcasing adaptive equipment and assistive technologies that promote inclusive participation in music, art, recreation, and play. We’re also thrilled to support the event’s inclusive mural project by loaning adapted art tools and built-up paintbrushes.
In addition, The Center’s Recruitment Team will have a presence at the event, focused on community engagement and welcoming those in attendance to learn more the great work we do here.
We’re honored to be part of a festival that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusion, and creates a space where everyone belongs. Please share with your friends and family and feel free to attend with your loved ones, as the event is open to all! Note: Bethel Woods asks that you please register in advance so they can have an accurate headcount.

Fresh Ideas, Right on the Table: TCFD Debuts New Whiteboard FlexTable®!
When a local school district requested FlexTables with whiteboard tops, TCFD’s team rose to the challenge – designing and fabricating a custom batch that looks great and works even better. These writable, dry-erase surfaces offer a dynamic space for sketching ideas, solving problems, and supporting hands-on learning. Ideal for classrooms, therapy rooms, or creative settings, the design encourages engagement, movement, and spontaneous collaboration. This surface brings a new kind of energy to learning environments. We’ll be testing these tables at TCFD in the near future, and we’re excited to see the creativity they spark – right at the table. We’re incredibly grateful for Walmart’s partnership and to everyone who helped make this meaningful event possible. Together, we’re building a more inclusive future! |
