ONE CENTER FOR DISCOVERY® FAMILY RAISES NEARLY $18K IN 2018 NYC MARATHON

2018 New York City Marathon

For some, running 26.2 miles in the New York City Marathon has never been a goal.  For others – including one father and daughter duo – it’s an opportunity to give back.  Yesterday, Rob and Britt who have a son and brother (Will), in the pediatric program at The Center for Discovery®, participated in the 48th annual New York City Marathon. While the day might have been one of their favorite days as New Yorkers, they crossed the finish line for Will – and for The Center for Discovery® – the special place that he calls home.

This year’s ‘Friends of Will’ campaign was aimed at raising money for The Center, via participation in this year’s marathon. To date, the campaign has raised nearly $18,000 – all that will be directed at furthering The Center’s commitment to advancing scientific understanding and standards of care.

In 2017, Will’s family created a 501c3 non-profit organization, Friends of Will, to formalize their support of organizations to help individuals with physical and mental disabilities.  All proceeds from their efforts, including the money they raised from the NYC Marathon, goes to The Center for Discovery®. Thank you, to Will’s family for their ongoing support.  It means the world to us.
